A coloring experiment based on metallic oxidation. Heavy-duty cotton is placed in an iron-rich environment to allow rust pigments to slowly permeate the fibers. The patterns are dictated by humidity and contact duration. It serves as a visual specimen of "corrosion" and "sedimentation," with a thick, dry hand-feel.
